Welcome to our blog!! We are a Christian home-schooling  family of 10…Harmony (22), Heather (20), Haylee (18), Hannah (16), Hope (13), Hosanna (11), Hudson (9) and Helayna (4) Our home sits on a 5 acre parcel surrounded by woods where we often spot moose, wolves, foxes and other wildlife. We all love Alaska and are glad to be able to call it home. But we haven’t always lived here…When Harmony, Haylee and I were all very young, our parents moved from Washington state to Texas in search of a Church. Though Texas is not some place I would like like to live now, during our stay there we happily welcomed Hannah into the world and were blessed to become a part of a wonderful fellowship of Believers. However, the leader of the small Church decided to move to Tennessee  and soon after, the Church fell apart. No longer having a reason to stay in Texas, we packed up our things and moved to Maine where we had taken up a job to house sit for a Christian couple. Our normal daily life in an old 1800s farmhouse ended in a nightmare as we watched the house go up in flames. Soon after the fire, Papa felt the call to move to Alaska so after lots of red tape, we were able to purchase a school bus which we converted to a motor home. The old yellow school bus became home to our family for two years as we embarked on a long journey across the United States. After much anticipation, we crossed the Alaska border on May 18th 1999 and settled about 10 miles North of the small town of Palmer. (Population  approx. 3500

We currently find ourselves waiting on the Lord and His will for our lives as far as Church and Fellowship goes. We recently went through a hard time of change and we are anxiously waiting to see how the Lord will work everything out! Every day we plead His throne for wisdom and ask in faith, believing!! Though it is hard at times, we know that God will work all things together for the good to them that love Him! So we keep pressing on.

Our family makes homemade soaps, lotions, lip balms and various other bath products which we sell at the local farmer’s markets and  indoor craft fairs as well as our retail shop located in Wasilla, about 45 minutes from our house. Papa suffers from health issues and has been disabled for many years so our family relies on the business for our main income.

We recently got rid of our sled dogs that we have had for 5 years…our chickens got old and quit laying so we hauled them down to the local chicken farm…we weren’t able to get honey bees this year so as you can see, our farm has shrunk over time. We currently have a pet dog,  a few outside cats, 1 inside cat and we were also able to keep 2 of the sled dogs. It is rather quiet around here (much to my dismay) but I am hoping that we will be able to get more animals soon when the time is right!!

Our days are filled with homeschooling, washing and drying laundry, cooking, cleaning, making soaps and lotions, filling orders, hauling wood, feeding the animals and all the other many chores that go along with running a large family as well as a home business.

We are also in the process of moving so things have been crazy around here with cleaning up outside, painting, packing, weed-eating…etc… so far we haven’t found a place to move to so we are stepping out in faith, trusting that God will bring it to us in His time!

Please keep our family in your Prayers, Papa has been suffering greatly from pain in his leg and it seems that the Doctors aren’t really sure what to do about it. So please continue to Pray, I know that he really appreciates it! Thanks!!
